Shri Tridandi Dev Government Degree College, Gautam Nagar, Shahpur, Bhojpur, the 19th constituent college of the University from Veer Kunwar, is going to complete one year of its establishment. The college was established on April 14, 2023, and its inauguration was conducted in the presence of the chief guest, His Excellency the Governor of Bihar, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, and the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Veer Kunwar Singh University, Dr. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi, in which other dignitaries were present, mainly former DGP of Bihar, Shri Gupteshwar Pandey, Buxar. It was held in the presence of Shri Munna Tiwari, MLA of Buxar; Shri Mantu Tiwari, MLA of Shahpur; Registrar of Veer Kunwar Singh University; Pro Vice Chancellor; Proctor of the College; Shri Santosh Tiwari Senotor and Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj, the supreme disciple of Shri Tridandi Swami Ji, the main contributor to this college. On the same day, an additional charge as the principal of this college was given to Shri Shailendra Ojha. But on January 25, 2024, Dr. Gulab Phalhari is appointed as a Prof. incharge (principal) . The main objective of this college is to provide education to the people in the Ganga Diara area and the rural areas around Shahpur. Due to the absence of a college in this area, people were forced to go 40 to 45 KM away to study, due to which many people were able to study only till 10th and 12th, but today, due to the presence of a college, a new ray of hope has emerged that people will now be able to get education up to graduation easily. It is evident that in the first year, a total of 1644 enrolments were done in the Faculty of Commerce and Arts, including only two subjects, in which there was no Science Faculty; however, this year, permission for enrolment in the Science Faculty has been received from the university, due to which this year the number of boys and girls has increased. The increase in number clearly shows that if this college had not existed, then 1644 boys and girls would have been deprived of their degrees.
